(okay this is the first and LAST time ya'll will see bad pics of me, but they continue throughout this post) then I started my bootleg sisterlocking ( Dr. Cornwell I apologize). I could tell you the entire horrible story from start to finish..but I am going to just cut to the chase and tell you that I finished all of the front here is the first part of the left side
that was completed. I was so excited..thinking I had done such a great job. Then I started on the right side
You can see me just a grinning thinking life is sooo great. I finished the entire front
and as you can see I am still happy. Then I started on the back and everything went wrong. I started combining locks and making parts too big...I was going on to the FOURTH day of sitting in front of a mirror twisting my hair. I reached in the back to do a twist and it got tangled with another ( it was happening everytime at this point) and then I tried to cut the hair in between and cut out a whole patch of my hair!!! Okay I am not a crier, but after four days of this craziness I definitly started crying seeing my hair fall. I had complained so much that my friends started trying to set up a savings account for me to go and get someone else to do it. So I got on the Sisterlock website and looked up the fabulous Gigi's information. I had seen her name all over so many pages that I loved. Needless to say when she answered I was a pure hot ghetto mess, but she talked me through it and when I told her why I attempted to start them (personal) she set me up with Taffy (lifesaver!!, pics to come later) I drove to Dallas the next day and after many hours, much scolding ( I am very educated on sisterlocks and the trademark and all of the time that Dr Cornwell put into it) here I am world!
. Let me say that Taffy probably uncombined more than half of my own locks. Also she let me know that my parts are wayyyy too big. So I really did not do a good job ( I wish I could wipe the grin off my face in those pictures). My official locking date August 14th 2008. A more current pic is located in my profile. It has been four weeks....wow.. and I love it more and more everyday. It would definitly have been worth waiting four years to do. I am so glad to locked, I wish I would have done it sooner. If you are surfing the web and trying to find a way to start sisterlocks yourself because the price is too high, just wait. Take it from someone who knows it is definitly not worth it. From now on no more bad pics, and only I love my sisterlocks stories. please continue to stop by and let me know what you think.

Great blog!!! I am so proud of you! And as far as the advice for all of you that visit this blog - take heed. As a friend who watched her go through the experience, pay to get it professionally done! It's worth it.

A!
I am so glad you love your hair. After all you went through to get to this place in your journey, it would be a shame if you did not absolutely love it.

WOW! I love to see beautiful sista's like you with natrual long hair. It's a pleasure not often found today in a world filled with weaves and tracks! A lovely hair style for a beautiful black woman! I know your boyfriend likes it....or is there a boyfriend? (Holla a me.) ;-)

Although you sound disappointed in yourself, I think it's amazing you did your own hair as well as you did! In no time, you'll be able to do your own roots.
